I used to play with an amazing band, Blue Sundaze, that closed every show with a punch-you-in-the-face cover of Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer." When I went away to vet school I wrote Orchid as a tribute to those late night vibes. It was originally recorded 19 years ago and features a much younger Rose on lead vocals and bass, the other tracks updated for its 2021 release. I kept the old tracks to show my younger self that some day, people would actually hear her music! It was a total blast doing a song with that rockin' chick. ;)
